Once you’ve spent some time in Wonthaggi, you’re bound to hear the Akers name once or twice. It’s fair to say, the Akers family have been living and operating businesses in Wonthaggi for the better part of 100 years.
While a far cry from the original Akers Auction Rooms, founder and owner Leonie Akers has herself been in business in the optical industry for over 40 years. A qualified optical technician, Leonie first opened the doors to Akers Eyewear in 2006 with a vision of building a practice that was warm and welcoming, and has been caring for the local community and their eye health ever since.
With her team of highly qualified, friendly optometrists and optical dispensers, you’ll be looked after the moment you step foot inside her practice. And with Leonie’s passion and love for sourcing the most beautiful and individual range of spectacle frames, you’re sure to find the perfect style for you.
